BUG API - Filter by Severity does not work as expected/documented

When using the BugInfo API https://developer.cisco.com/docs/support-apis/#!bug/get-bugs-by-base-product-id-and-software-releases  the results are not filtered correctly when filtering by Severity

Example GET URL: https://api.cisco.com/bug/v2.0/bugs/products/product_id/N9K-C9332C?severity=3

This returns a reduced number of bugs (than without the filter) BUT they are not just Severity 3
