RV042 quickVPN setup to include port requirements

Hi I am Mike:

I am trying to setup a clients RV042 VPN router using a quickvpn software that I downloaded from the Cisco download page for the RV042 Quick client VPN.

I also downloaded the guide to setup the VPN but I was unable to determine the port TCP/UDP requirements for the wan router. Unfortunately my clients wan router is managed by my clients ISP and I must tell them what ports to open and I cannot keep calling them because the process takes hours.

Thanks for any help that you can give me in this regard of setting up the quickvpn or the required ports on the wan side

Hello Mike,

Thanks for contacting Cisco support community center. I am really sorry for inconvenience caused and

delayed response. Please find the below details regarding Quick VPN

QVPN may not work for reasons like -

1. The VPN router has a private range IP with port forwarding.

2. Security settings which includes firewall on the PC

3. No up to date Operating System with recent windows service packs

4. No up to date router firmware

5. No up to date QVPN client

6. Pirated or cracked/patched Operating system.

7. Router only has a private range IP

8. Ports 50, 51, 443, 60443, 500, 4500 required for QVPN to work are blocked/closed by ISP or set under

port forwarding for some other use.

9. LAN IP range on the QVPN router and the remote PC are the same.

10. Remote management on the device is disabled.
