RV320 Firmware Update > Restore Settings From Backup?

I have an RV320 that needs a firmware update.   My question is if I backup the settings (Startup.config) and (Mirror.Config) then perform the firmware update can I use the backup files to restore all the setting once the new firmware has been loaded?   I know upgrading the firmware wipes out all the settings on this model.  I want to confirm that a backup of the settings from an older firmware version can be successfully restored onto the newer firmware.  I really want to avoid having to reconfigure the entire router.

Thanks

Normally, upgrade will not lost your configuration, but downgrade may back to default if the version too different. However you can restore your setting thru backup config file.

Hi,

My name is Puneet and I am an engineer in Cisco small business support center.

You can easily load the configuration file after upgrading the firmware of the router by following System Management>>Backup and restore path. In case you downgrade the firmware then you may face problems while loading the configuration file created in the router running on higher firmware version.

Regards,

Puneet
