Hello, I am replacing a Netgear fvs336gv2 router with a Cisco rv345 router. On the netgear there was a setting called "IGMP Passthrough" which I have turned on for certain reasons.
Is the "IGMP Proxy"essentially the same thing? I don't see any "IGMP Passthrough" setting on rv345 with latest firmware.
Thanks.

Hello @TJO
Conceptually they are different. Proxy is the ability of pose itself as client to a IGMP service and then forward the information to those behind it. Passthrough is simply let IGMP traffic goes back and forth.
However, I believe the result will be the same on this case. I never tested with this device to be honest but if I were you I´d enable it and test.

Thanks for your help Flavio.
I see the "Multicast Passthrough" setting on many other cisco routers. But I do not see it on the rv345.
Can someone from Cisco help me out here? I am coming from using Netgear Prosafe firewalls where there is an IGMP Passthrough setting.
I have looked at the manual and it is unclear if this is "multicast passthrough".
Thanks for any help. I am trying to adapt to the Cisco.
