using dyn no-ip.org on RV320

I have a RV320 FW: v1.1.1.06, and i would like to config the dyn dns setup using the service from no-ip.org.

Is there any possibilty therefor?

In the config menu, it is only prepared for dyndns.org and 3322.org.

thanks

Tom

Hi Tom,

Unfortunately custom DDNS is not supported on the SMB routers. You are restricted to the available services.

Hi Marty,

but it seems, that the RV110W e.g. supports the ddns service of noip.com (no-ip.org).

In the config menu it is possible to select this service:

Maybe in this issue the current firmware of the RV110W has more fuctions then the RV320?

Tom

Tom,

Unfortunately it appears that no-ip.org has been removed from the RV110W on the latest firmware:

I think that the RV320 had a different development team as well. I do not know why they choose what DDNS services are available on any given device.

Edit: Sorry, I pulled this screenshot from version 1.0.0.2, which is old. I think that no-ip is available on the newer firmware.

Hi Marty,

I have installed a RV320 and facing the same problem as Tom. Only the List of two DDNS-Service provider is shown. DynDNS is not free anymore and 3322.org is also not my favourite.

Why the list is restricted here ?

Other products from Cisco are providing more options here.

Other produces are providing e.g. a User-defined option

Or are there any other options with the RV320 to do this ?

many thanks for your help

best regards,

Georg

Hi Georg,

I'm sorry to say that I do not know why the decision was made to only support two providers. You basically have three options:

1) Open a support case for a feature request: www.cisco.com/go/sbsc

2) Use another device on your network for DDNS that supports your preferred provider. (I have a NAS and some IP cameras that support multiple providers)

3) Install an update client on a server or PC that is always running

Hello Marty,

I have nearly the same problem. I have a free DynDNS Service from a other provider in Germany. But my RV320 supports NO other DynDNS Provider as DynDNS.org or 3322.org.

Cisco is a company with a lot of customer and with high cost products. But all SmallBusiness Router products didn't support customer spec. settings. Cheap Router in low cost sector brings a hand full DynDNS out of the box in list menu and a "other provider" setting. Poor Cisco.

I kick my cisco product(s) [RV220W] in the dustbin and buy low cost products, that I'm flexible of new services, as with expensive Cisco products.

If you search in the support database, many, many people have the same problem and open a support ticket.

A new Firmware can fix this problem. But Cisco takes not care about the issues / problems / request of they customerer.

Regards
