WRVS4400n locks up with a repeater.

I have tired different repeaters. First the WAP4410N. Especially in WDS mode it locks the router up. I have to restart it.

Out of desperation I bought RE1000 that says it works with any "N" device. It also locked up after successfully configuring it.

No repeater works without some serious problerm. Any advise?

When setting up your repeater, is it connected by ethernet cable to the network?

Hey Robert:

No it is not. I am just trying to strengthen the signal at certain point in my house.

I do have a WRT54G with DD-WRT OS wirelessly bridged to it. The only one that seems to work. (That router is attached to my sons XBOX. But the signal strength is only 35% and drops pretty regular. This is why I am trying to boost the signal.)

This event occurs whether the WRT54G is on or not.
