Can i use a c9300 (16.12.4) as both a distribution switch (the fiber ports) and edge switch (copper)?

Yes, it is supported to use a Cat 9300 to act as both a distribution/intermediate node and as a fabric edge node. I have a few SD-Access deployments with fabric edge nodes that are connected to other edge nodes without any issues. Please see the following community posts that discuss this in further detail
