Media Converter use with SDA

Are any media converters compatible with SDA? I need to connect multiple devices at different locations and am looking for a solution that doesn't require me to buy multiple switches for one device. I need PoE to power the device and have fiber coming to the box near the device. The concern is that the controller won't know what is on the other side of the media converter.

Media converter is just media converter. They are not network devices and it does not matter if you have SDA or not. Not sure what do you mean by controller but the media convert is transparent for network devices (unless they are faulty).

I get what you are saying and that is what I was trying to explain to my counterparts. It turns out their concern was the link remaining on the media converter if the distant end was disconnected. I explained that you can you the link pass through dip switch to change that. And just now they circled back to my initial argument that if the device is swapped on the other end of the media converter the switch will know. Thank you for your quick input!

You are welcome.
