Hi all
I am trying to replace a faulty 9300-24T with a new 9300-24T. I have following the "Replace a Faulty Device" section in the 2.2.3.6 user guide (Cisco DNA Center User Guide, Release 2.2.3 - Manage Your Inventory [Cisco DNA Center] - Cisco) but am not able to replace the switch.
The faulty switch is removed, the new switch is powered and cabled in its place, the upstream switch can see "Switch" in cdp neighbour but when I go to replace faulty device, the new switch isnt available. I have manually added the serial number as suggested in the documentation and then the next step (now / later) the "now" option is greyed out. It states that this is due to the new switch not being onboarded. I am unable to onboard this new switch first as we have no free DNA licences.
I am unsure where to go.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Craig
i have no experience with replacement in SDA, pardon. but there is 2nd option for not-onboarded devices in Step 8 (assuming u have smart account enabled). did u try it? From pragmatic pov though i'm not sure how DNAC will search for the appropriate device on the fabric w/o knowing where to find( what generally is done by Discover or PnP)... Good luck & pls keep thread updated w/ your progress
Or
In the Choose Replacement Device window, click Sync with Smart Account.
In the Sync with Smart Account window, click Sync.
UPD: did u also try to have unclaimed/inventorized device with PnP or Discover despite of free license absence?

Thanks for your response.
Tried the smart account option, it states there are no matching records.

Hi
We had an issue like this and we had to remove the device manually from ISE.
Thanks
