Enhanced Zoning with MDS 9148S

Hi

We used to do the zoning the traditional way and not sure whether to go with Enhanced zoning, if we go with enhanced zoning will there be any advantage and also is there any drawback. We have only a few zones (less than 100, used single initiator and multiple targets) and a single VSAN and using with Cisco UCS 6248 FIs.

Features for enhanced zoning see Table 29-3 in

Big advantage is locking of the session, avoiding that 2 persons could make changes to the db at the same time, and finally wipe out each other at zoneset activation.

I would however use device alias, and don't forget, don't use VSAN nr.1 !!
