I had a very similar error message on our SAN Management servers (Windows servers) and a reboot cleared the error and FM worked again. Don't know what caused it but it hasn't happened since.
any microsoft patch is applied to that windows server recently , check with windows admin. Roy is correct most of the times reboot of management server fix the issue.
