Hello,

For the MDS 9718 Grid Redundancy, the minimum number of Power Supplies

depends on the Modules installed.

Please see:

Table 5-19 AC PSU Requirements for Grid Redundancy

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/mds9000/hw/9700/mds_9700_hig/techspec.html#72679

Here is the ordering information:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/storage-networking/mds-9700-series-multilayer-directors/datasheet-c78-736318.html

I hope this helps you.

Regards,

Carlos

In the Cisco MDS 9710 Director Overview document, figure 1-1 needs to be updated to properly reflect the components of the Chassis. Details of grid redundancy for the MDS 9710 switch needs to be documented.

1-    System LEDs
2-    Rack-mount bracket
3-    Switching modules (1 to 4)
4-    Supervisor modules (1 to 2)
5-    Switching modules (5 to 8)
6-    Power supply modules
7-    Handles used for adjusting the chassis placement

Needs to be updated as follows:
#3 - Switching modules (1 to 8)
#5 - Power supply modules
#6 - Handles used for adjusting the chassis placement
#7 - N/A

Also, details of power supply grid redundancy (Grid A and Grid B) as well as slot location should be documented.
