How and where to Start my Way to Cisco or MDS Switches Knowledge ?????

Hi All,

Good Morning, Good Evening,

I have been in the Storage Industries from Past four years. I am installing the Netapp (NAS). But now I wanted to shift into SAN as I have not experienced the SAN But i have cleared the SAN concepts. When I come across some of the interviews of SAN I could able to find out max on the Switches like Cisco and MDS or Brocade. I have Configured the Cisco Switches (ETH) and Not FC @ my early ages of the experiences (When I was doing CCNA). I did not get any chance of Configuring the FC switches.

My query is The basic Configuring of ETH and FC are same or not ? If no the my second query is ..... Below

2) Is there any Simulators available of the Cisco switches (FC) ? if No then my third query is ..... Below

3) Is there any Docs with Installtion plus Administartion of Cisco and their Product line.

Instead I also want to increase my knowledge in the the Switch(s) world hence GURUS and Experts please help me in the way to proceed to Switches Knowledge.....

fc interface configuration is a little different.

I would also take a look at the Cisco Storage Networking Cookbook, which covers both MDS and Nexus product lines for NXOS version 5.x.  It's got a format that is easy to digest for people that know what they want to do but not sure what commands are needed, or what a leading practice is for it.

Also, as always post your questions in this forum and the community is always ready to help you out.
