Is It mandatory to activate the ZoneSet on Principal switch with ISLs

Hi Guys,

Hope you are doing well...

I have two switches with ISLs (TE Port) configuration, "SAN Switch A" and "SAN Switch B".

"SAN SW A" having more than 10 device witch active zone and zoneset

"SAN SW B" having only 5 devices with active zone and zoneset (Zoneset name is identical for SAN SW A & B)

Now When i connect the 6th Device on "SAN SW B" added the zone for this device, activate the zoneset successfully, but what we have observed that we can see the zones which related to "SAN SW B" in "show zoneset active" configuration.

if i will add new zone and activate the zoneset from "SAN SW A" then i am able to see all zone either it is related to "SAN SW A" or "SAN SW B"

So what we understood we always need to do the zoning and zoneset activation from pricipal switch which is "SAN SW A" in my case.

So kindly suggest that is it mandatory to activate the zoneset on Principle Switch, if not then what should i do to overcome from this situation ???

Regards,

Manish
