MDS 9124 san switch, need to enable NPIV

Hello,

I'm very new in Cisco MDS 9124 san switch.

Can some one help me to understand this swicth like how to create zone, alise, zone config. (I hv experince in Brocade SAN switches).

Also how to enable the NPIV in this switch? if I will enable the npiv, what persecution I need to be take care prior?

Although I would recommend to use device alias, not FC alias

To enable or disable NPIV on the switch, follow these steps:

	Command	Purpose
Step 1	switch# config t	Enters configuration mode.
Step 2	switch(config)# feature npiv	Enables NPIV for all VSANs on the switch.
Step 3	switch(config)# no feature npiv	Disables (default) NPIV on the switch.

You can enable NPIV anytime !

The command is global and non disruptive.

For enabling NPIV you might need to use this command: "npiv enable"...

It depands on the nx-os you run.
