MDS 9513 upgrade sup2 to sup2a with config reset

Hi - I've inherited a couple of MDS 9513 switches with sup2 cards.  I've purchased sup 2A cards and would like to wipe the switch config and install the sup2a cards.

Can I simply shut down the switch and swap the supervisor cards?  Meaning, would I expect the new cards to have the current OS on them and be able to config the switch as from new?
