Hi, Cisco Guru:
Can some of you show me what is the MDS Design Guide? I want to hear from Cisco what is the recommended MDS Design Guideline if I have 2 Fabric Interconnects, 2 MDS 9513, and I am using M81KR in UCS Blades hooking up to EMC CLARiiON?
I have seen from all UCS documentation that 2 VSAN is always being shown.
Appreciate it.

Hi Sim,
I'm not quite certain I'm answering your question, but in general having two indepent fabrics between the host(s) and storage is the industry standard for a reliable & redundant Fibre Channel connectivity.
Two physically seperate fabrics is ideal. If that's not possible, some customers choose to use VSAN's to provide 2 logically separate fabrics.
I do hope that answers your question.
Regards,
Ken

I found this document from EMC. It has some recommendations on how to setup MDS switches and others.
