NTP settings and time zone settings on MDS 9000 series switch

Hi,

I want to perform a NTP settings and time-zone settings on cisco MDS 9509 switch. Here my question is , I will be setting the NTP server details. So do i need to do daylight saving details. Because NTP server will have timing details based on daylight saving. So is it need to set daylight saving timing using the command  switch(config)# clock summer-time  ?  or Switch will automatically takes the daylight saving timing from NTP source?

Please let me know if below steps are fine to implement it or any change required ?

1. switch# config t
2. switch(config)# ntp server <Ntp server ip>
3. switch(config)# ntp peer <peer SAN switch IP>
4. switch(config)# clock timezone BST 0 0 (Want to set a UK time)
5. switch(config)# exit

Hello Rahul,

NTP will provide a time for your switch in UTC time. Locally the SW will add or remove the timezone.

You need configure clock summer-time.

clock summer-time zone-name start-week start-day start-month start-time end-week end-day end-month end-time offset-minutes
clock summer-time PDT 1 Sunday March 02:00 1 Sunday November 02:00 60
