SSL Virtual server vs. SSL Backend-server

Hi,

I'm trying to configure the ssl accel module on a 11501 and I have some doubts about the meaning of Virtual server and Backend server.

Virtual server = terminates the SSL session on the SSL mod. and sends cleartext HTTP to the server.

Backend server = SSL encryption between server and SSL module OR the server which resides on the internal network?

Configuring the ssl-proxy-list do I have to configure both a virtual server and a backend server?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Niels

The server that sits behind the SCA is considered the backend server. The traffic to this server is in clear text (because the SSL session has been terminated on the SCA).
