256bytes TCP/IP Window Size after configuring VLAN on 2960X Switch

Hi all,

I have configured a very smal simple network, with one Windows 2012 R2 server and 3 Windows 7 worstations (clients), this is a local network and they communicate through a Cisco 2960 switch.

When using the switch with the factory defaults, the size of the TCP Window  is around 64Kb on avarage. Then I configure two VLANs, I give them an IP address and I associate ports Gi1/0/1 to Gi1/0/12 to one and Gi1/0/13 to Gi/0/24 to the other. Then I reload the switch and restart the windows machines, after that, when checking the traffic between clients and server (with Wireshark), I can se that the average window size has reduced to 256 bytes.

This of course is causing more traffic and slows down the network.

We have another setup with exactly the same configuration (I think) and i don't see any of this issues.

Could please someone tell me why is this happening? Is it normal? How can i solve it?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Sorry, I forgot to say that all the clients and server are connected to the same VLAN 10, we are not using other VLAN at the moment.

Thanks!

Regards,
