I have an odd issue at a client's where we have a C9300 switch. Users are able to ping, for example, google.com but unable to browse to google.com. However, if we set the speed on the interface the PC is connected to 100 they are able to browse the internet. Anyone seen this issue before? Some of my colleagues think it might be a cabling issue.

Forgot to mention that all PCs are running windows 10 and are newer models ( no older than 2 years)

That is usually a DNS issue. Check DNS for name resolution. Or you can put a static hostname on one of the PCs and test browsing again.

In this case it is not a DNS issue as everything works fine when we set the port speed to static 100.

Can you hard set a PC and its switch port to Gig and try again?

What type cable is the Ethernet infrastructure?

I am uncertain which cable type is being used at the location, but will try to find out.
