Hi Everyone,
We want to use mGig switches to a couple of our servers which have 10Gb and 1Gb network cards.
I did a quick Google and couldn't find much info about mGig so I'm not sure if this gives problems.
What I do know is that there are two standards for 10Gb switchports and those are mGig and NBASE-T.
What happens when you connect the 10Gb switchport to a server with a non mGig network card?
If it's using autosensing and can't find the speed, could I manually set a port to a certain speed just like duplex settings?

Hi Leo,
Thank you for your reply.
This means when the server has a 10Gb networkcard that it will lower the speed to 1Gb?
In this case I would only have a problem with the 10Gb networkcards and this can't be solved by configuring the mGig switchport to use 10Gb speed instead of autosensing? Just to be sure.
