CE500 problem

we have two CE500 and two 3Com Hubs. One of the CE500 using as core switch. Since, all other CE500 and two 3Com hubs is too far away. We need to use 3 fiber cable and 6 fiber converter to downward to UTP connecting to the Core switch (CE500). However, we found the 3 fiber links is down after running about 5 hours. Is that the CE500 have problem ? or the fiber converter cannot run 802.1Q trunking making the link down ??????????

On a CE500, when you a set a port to the role ?Switch? or ?Router? it will enable dot1Q trunking (IEEE 802.1q) on the port?s configuration. If the other end of the link are not dot1Q aware, you will have connectivity issues. Also try hardcoding the speed and duplex on the devices connected. I suggest you to bypass the media converters by using switch models that have the option to connect a fiber cable directly by using SFP or GBIC modules. Media Converters are normally a point of failure when interconnecting devices.
