Hasan,

that is how I understood it as well: the failure can occur even if the device has been running without problems for several years, as in your case.

To be on the safe side, it is a good idea to send the serials to Cisco.

What is more to say?

The flaw kicks in when the affected appliances gets a reboot.  When the Intel Atom processor is affected the appliance will not be able to power back on.

Hello,

in addition to Leo's post, I remember somebody encountering the same issue a while ago. It appears that only certain serial numbers are affected. Check the updated field notice below for information on how to identify if your devices may be affected:

Hi Georg,

Thanks for your reply ,my concern was: does the router still affected even if it is running from 2 years properly without any issue , as per cisco "the issue may occur beginning at 18 months in operation, based on information provided by the supplier, we don’t expect a noticeable spike in failures until year three of runtime."

check this link : http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/web/clock-signal.html#~faqs,

i will send the serial number to cisco in order to check .
