Console access to stacked 9300L series running 16.12.1

We have stacked 9300L series switches, when we used console port to access the switches it gave us the login, but could never get into the switch. We connected the console cable to the console port on the master switch and we could login to the switch. Is this normal behavior for stacked 9300L series switches?

You should be able to console to the member switch, if not try enabling it and test again.
