I have WS-C4507R with WS-X4515 Supervisor, and WS-C4507R with WS-X45-SUP6-E Supervisor. Same network topology, same traffic rates, same IOS version: Cisco IOS Software, Catalyst 4500 L3 Switch Software (cat4500-ENTSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.2(53)SG3, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1).

What is the reason of high rate process K2/K5 ?

Why WS-X4515 Supervisior have high rate in ESMP Queue ? (Maybe this is a root cause of CPU utilization?)

This situation presents on other WS-X4515 Supervisor in network with same topology.

Can you post the output of "sh processes cpu | exclude 0.00" from both switches?

WS-X4515 Supervisior - usual state scare me, because it works in 30-35% CPU utilization.

WS-X45-SUP6-E Supervisor - usual state 15-20% CPU utilization, this is better and good.

It probably is a good idea to open a ticket with TAC and have them look at their data base for any bug related to this sup. The 2 Mgmt processes are consuming almost 31% of the total CPU usage.

Also, have a look at this doc:

I've already read this document, and do not find any usable information about my problem.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/switches/catalyst-4000-series-switches/65591-cat4500-high-cpu.html

Any other ideas ?

I'm very interesting about this situation:

Maybe this is a root cause ? Why so many packets in ESMP queue ?
