DHCP issue with aironet (autonomous mode) and device

Hello,

I have an issue I'm stumped over.  I have a cisco aironet 3702i running in autonomous mode hooked to an asr1001.

I have an IPTV set top box that runs off of DHCP ONLY.  <---- IMPORTANT

The STB has a Wi-Fi connection and an ethernet port.

DHCP for the IPTV VLAN is handled by the ASR.

Here's the problem:

The wifi associates, but does not get an IP address

Looking at the Aironet

SSID [TEST] :

MAC Address IP address IPV6 address Device Name Parent State
7085.c6d0.81f7 0.0.0.0 :: unknown - self Assoc

looking at the dhcp service on the ASR:

sh ip dhcp binding

172.16.3.5  0170.85c6.d081.f6 Infinite Manual Selecting Unknown

0170.85c6.d081.f6 is the mac of the ethernet controller of the STB.

All of the STBs I have exhibit the same issue.  I've even replicated the problem on an 1941 ISR.

I also have an asus wifi router, mac address shows up and pulls an ip from the cisco routers without an issue.

This seems to be only an issue when it's associated to the cisco aironet.

It'a not an arp/mac address table issue, as i've cleared all that.

I have not spun up a vWLC to see if it's just an issue with autonomous mode.

Hello,

hard to say without seeing the configs...can you post those ? Are your SSIDs mapped to the right VLANs ?
