Is it supporting static routing in LAN Base ?

Hello all,

I'm wondering if 3750X-~-L is supporting static routing.

L means LAN Base.

But as you can see the below data sheet, there is a sentence that is underlined.

"LAN Base : enterprise access Layer 2 switching features."

So if it is due supporting L2 features, it is not including static routing fuction?

How can I accept it..?

and IF IT IS NOT SUPPORTING L3 FUCTION SUCH AS STATIC ROUTING, I think it obstinately does not need to L3 switch.

Regards,

Hey you will need an ipbase license to get the static routing and ip services for features like eigrp or pbr ,lanbase is a purely layer 2 image for switching only. You buy the license seperatly like most Cisco platforms.

The IP Base feature set includes advanced quality of service (QoS), rate limiting, access control lists (ACLs), and basic static and Routing Information Protocol (RIP) functions. Dynamic IP routing protocols (Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), BGPv4, Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP)) are available only on the IP services image.

The IP Services image provides a richer set of enterprise-class features, which includes advanced hardware-based IP unicast and IP Multicast routing. Support for IPv6 Layer 3 switching in hardware is also available with the addition of the Advanced IP Services license to either the IP Base or the IP Services images. Both the IP base Image and the IP services image allow for Layer 3 and Layer 4 lookups for QoS and security.

Thank you expert.

but,,,license?

I searched below information.

Like you said, if I should buy 3560X-24*-L, can I buy a license to use static routing separately?

Regards,

Hi you can buy a license off your reseller that you purchased the switch off , the license is bought seperatly and then you apply it to your device , the switch comes with standard lanbase and will work as that but if you want the extra features like static routing you usually need to buy the ip license.

Saying that looking at that extract you posted it says your lanbase will also support 16 static routes already so how many do you need as the ip base can support 200 i think
