Hi, i have 2 cisco layer 3 switches separating my 2 of locations
where ISP in between. I do have servers in both the locations and found some kind of application disuconnection log in my servers between these two locations and it came up with in milli secs. But i do not see any logs in my cisco switches. Please let me know will the switch not show this log if the link fails n comes back with in milli secs ? I have enabled information kind of logs to be generated in my switches ? Also let me know is there any way to check the this kind of issues ?? Because of this i cant say that there is a link failure, but my all the servers say that there was a disconnection with the remote servers for few milli secs.

Hi Rajesh,
The ports which are conencted to isp routers to your switch are they getting flapped or having error, you can see that in show logging about the interface up down.If you are not then what i would suggest download freeware PRTG tools install that in one of the server and configure the switch which is connected to ISP and monitor the ports with which your ISP is connected,You will come to know the utilization and any error or up/down mesage are occuring in your switches with respect to your ISP.With this way you can come to know the problem.
But beofre directly jumping into perimeter level have you checked the switches which are connected to servers are not having any problem, like high CPU or port flapping which may result in these type of errors.
Hope to Help !!
