Login issues SG220

We have dozens of these SG220's.  We have a new one that can't login with the default username and password.  It acts like it is taking the creds but just spins forever.  I have tried both http and https.  I would like to telnet to it, but you have to turn that service on first in the GUI.

Have you tried to reset the switch as you have no access anyway might be worth a shot

Returning the Cisco 220 Switch to the

Factory Default Settings

To reboot the switch, press and hold the Reset button for less than ten

seconds.

To restore the switch to its factory default settings:

– Disconnect the switch from the network or disable all DHCP

servers on your network.

– With the power on, press and hold the Reset button for more than

ten seconds.

Or try console in instead of web gui

Configuring Your Switch Using the Console Port

To configure the switch using the console port:

STEP 1 Connect a computer to the switch console port using the supplied

console cable.

STEP 2 Start a console port utility such as HyperTerminal on the computer.

STEP 3 Configure the utility with the following parameters:

9,600 bits per second

8 data bits

no parity

1 stop bit

no flow control

STEP 4 Enter a username and password. The default username is cisco,

and the default password is cisco. Usernames and passwords are

both case sensitive.

If this is the first time that you have logged on with the default

username and password, the following message appears:

Please change your password from the default

settings. Please change the password for better

protection of your network. Do you want to change

the password (Y/N) [Y]?

STEP 5 Enter Y, and set a new administrator password.

NOTE Password complexity is enabled by default. The password

must comply with the default complexity rules.

I can try resetting it.  Unfortunately, I'm in Cleveland and the switch is in Pecos, TX.  Walking someone through resetting it is something I was trying to avoid.  Oh well...Thanks

Id try the console connection first you may be able to get in that way with the default user/pass if they haven't worked through http , if that doesn't work then I would reset it

I don't have physical access.  It is across the country.  I have to walk someone on site through the process.  Thanks.
