Looking for suggestions for switching matrix system

Hello all, 

I'm looking for an intelligent patch panel system that either mechanically or optically switches connections. I think black box used to make one, but I can't find it for the life of me. I am NOT looking for a monitoring setup.

Yes, I can do this with switches, but was wondering if anyone knew of an elegant giant box with multiple ports that can perform physical connection changes by mechanical or optical means. 

For example I want to change from a connection between port 1 and port 13 to a connection between port 1 to port 15 by remotely telling the device to reroute the connection.

Do any companies make such a modern monstrosity (ideally up to 10G with as many ports as I can get from one device)?

Appreciate the google search, however this is what I mentioned that I was not looking for. I don't need simple monitoring, rather I need something that mechanically or optically switches port connectivity. 

Think of it like I have a person standing by to repatch cables (like an old time operator) but it is done inside the box by controlling it through software or command line.
