Multicast Implementation Setup

I am fairly new at networking and I have a basic understanding of VLANs and IP subnetting.   However beyond that I am still learning.   One thing I would like is some links to additional information on properly setting up Multicasting on a LAN.  Our basic LAN setup is a  core switch such as a Cisco Catalyst 3550-12G.  One connection off of this goes to a router that connects to our WAN and we don't have access to this router as our ISP controls this.  We have Catalyst 3500 or 2900 switches and some HP Pro Curve Switches in our network closets.  In addition some areas of the LAN have a few unmanaged simple 5 or 8 port switches off of the above switches.

Can someone provide me with some basic sample configs for the core switch and other switches to properly implement multicasting on a LAN setup like this?  Mainly we need to be able to multicast in order to image PCs on the LAN.

Hi,

Here is document to start with.If you have multiple vlans/subnets and the default getaway for your end devices is the router, then you need to talk to you ISP to turn on PIM on that router.  If you only have only one vlan then can simply turn on IGMP and get started. Also, make sure the none Cisco devices support Multicast
