Ospf has network types .( frame relay, broadcast network ) does Rip and Eigrp also has network types ?

Hi
Good question, in OSPF you can configure the network type on the interfaces explicity, also depending of the network requirements.

Now in RIP or EIGRP there is no way to configure the interfaces like OSPF but they can work over Broadcast, NBMA (Non Broadcast Multi Access) types and Point-to-Points for example using Serial interfaces. Now take in consideration the theory of Split Horizon when you are using EIGRP and RIP on NBMA networks.
Split-Horizon is enabled by default, if a prefix or packet is known through a physical interface this physical interface cannot advertise the same prefix learned, in few words the packet will dropped.

Hope it is useful

so if i am working on frame relay network in rip i have to disable split-horizon or poison reverse.

Hi
If you have a NBMA network and you are using vector distance routing protocols like RIP or EIGRP you need to disable the split horizon in order to avoid drop packets.
