replace 3750 switch in stack question

Hello,

If there are 2 stackable switches in a stack and one switch goes bad and is not the master do I need to set priority on the switch first so it wont be the master and also do I need to copy the start-up configuration back to new switch or does the master switch will automatically copy its config to the replacement switch?

Hi,

You don't need to copy any config into the new switch.  The master will sync the config to the new member.

Also, the default stack memeber is 1.  As long as your master switch has a priority higher then 1, the new switch will not become the master.
