i'm really confused and i want your help !!
in my office, i have SDH devices (which support OSI protocol - ESIS) wich are connected on an Ethernet Switch. The uplink of this switch is connected to an OSI router (IS) on VLAN 501.
my question is the following. Are Switchs can handle (treat) OSI PDU sent by the device ? the data-link layer is not MAC !! how switch can forward ES PDU without referring to the mac address ???
