What kind of circuit will this be that provides 5 MB? Will it be some type of T3, or Ethernet, or what? It would not be T1 and so yes you will need to change the card in the router that terminates the new circuit from your T1 WIC.

Hi Richard,
Thanks for the fast respond, Is a Metro E circuit.

If your 2911 has an available (built-in) Ethernet port, you would use that.

As I interpret the original question it was about whether the existing T1 WIC could be used for the new circuit or whether it needed to be upgraded. Clearly if the new circuit is Metro Ethernet then a T1 WIC can not be used and some other interface must be provisioned. Joseph makes a good point that it does not necessarily need to be a "new" interface added to the router. If there is an available Ethernet interface then you should be able to use that.
