Things to learn with Just One Switch - 2970

Hi Friends,

Recently i bought one Cisco Switch and would like to know what are the things i can learn with just one switch . Can anyone guide me . I am new to Networking and would like to practice and enhance my skills . As time goes and after getting some experience with one switch i will buy some more switches .

Hello,

I think the 2970 is a layer 2 switch only (check if you can configure 'ip routing' globally), so what you can learn with just this one switch is stuff related to quality of service, spanning tree, VTP, and a whole lot of other things. Check the guides below:

Although the switch is very outdated, a lot of the basic technologies still apply in today's more modern switches...
