I have recently migrated to a new 9300x solution, with 17.06.03 IOS version.
In my old 6509 switch, whenever I wanted to create a new vlan, I created the SVI with a route address, and then in order to that vlan be distributed via VTP, I entered the "vlan database" command, and in that vlan mode, I created the vlan with "vlan 412" or the number I preferred.
In the new router, the command "vlan database" does not exist. I have created the SVI, tried to add it to a port in a remote switch, but the vlan is not distributed via VTP. I don't know how the technician who made the migration achieved to distribute the pre-existent vlan's via VTP, there is no specific commands in the configuration. I have searched for documentation regarding "vlan database command deprecated" but cannot find anything. Thank you in advance if anyone knows how to fix it.

I tried that but I obtain this error message
VTP VLAN configuration not allowed when device is not the primary server for vlan database.
I don't understand then how the technician who made the migration created the pre-existent vlans in the new router, then. This person does not work for the company anymore.

I deleted domain name and devide ID for security, though I think they are not relevant.
Yes, I checked the config file and the "vtp primary" is not there, but there aren't also any other vtp commands. I don't know then how the technician made the vtp configuration, and how created the vlans and distributed them without that "vtp primary" command issued.
Also, in case I issue the "vtp primary" command now, is it dangerous? Could it erase my vlan database? All the network depends on the distribution of these vtp vlans correctly. In case they are deleted or not distributed, nothing will work.

Finally I tried to revert to vtp version 2, which was the version we had previous to this migration, and I can create vlans again. But your cues were indeed very useful to understand the situation.
