Hi all,
We have remote office where we have 2921 router with 6 layer 2 switches.
We have few servers which need to be in specfic vlan.
2921 router does not have switching engine we are using this to support VOIP.
So on 2921 router i created 6 sub interfaces for each vlan and assign them to their specfic vlans.
then i have trunk connection to switch 1.
Now switch 1 connects to all other switches in the network.
As our company design all layer 2 switches should be transparent mode.
i tested them i can ping from one switch to all other switches.
Router vtp mode i set to transparent mode and from all switches i can ping the router sub interfaces.
Need to know if this design is good to go?
Thanks
Mahesh

Mahesh,
As long as you can route between all of your vlans, you should be good to go. I don't see any issue with the design you have in place now.

Hi Mahesh
Your design will work fine
Just a couple of comments
If all your access switches are connecting to one dstro switch than that is a single point of failure I would recommend 2
Also if you only have one 2900 router that is also a single point of failure if you have the budget use 2 and run VRRP or HSRP between them
If you add a second distro switch you need to make sure STP is deployed

Hi Mahesh,
yes, looks for me also OK, I would do it in the same way..ON the Trunk I would only allow the necessary VLANs..

Sebastian
