Guys
My upgrade is not going as smooth as I would like. Blow is what I did and the errors/messages. Any idea how to recover the standby supervisor?
copy tftp://image.bin bootflash:image.bin
copy bootflash:image.bin slaveboot:image.bin
Switch# config terminal
Switch(config)# config-register 0x2
Switch(config)# boot system flash slot0: cat4000-is-mz.121-11b.EW
Switch# copy running-config start-config
Switch# redundancy reload peer
After the peer reloaded this is what I'm having
25w5d: %C4K_REDUNDANCY-6-MODE: ACTIVE supervisor initializing for rpr mode
25w5d: %C4K_REDUNDANCY-2-IOS_VERSION_CHECK_FAIL: IOS version mismatch. Active supervisor version is 12.1(19)EW1,. Standby supervisor version is 12.2(54)SG1,. Redundancy feature may not work as expected.

You have IOS mismatch. You need to load the same exact IOS in both sups and then reboot the switch. You also need to configure the primary sup with this command.
redun mode sso

Hi Reza,
Thanks for your quick response.
I've already copied the same image to the bootflash: and the slaveboot:
I was hoping to avoid reloading the switch and take advantage of it's redundant capabilities.
Is there anyother work around other than restarting?
