Hello Cisco Folks/Experts,
We need some help on this Trust Code Installed: <none> that still showing on our Cisco 8000v. When I run show version, it shows below and we already do a reload.
Additionally, we tried to put the command - license smart trust idtoken <token> all force and it did not do anything. Seeing its CSLU transport type. Below is the show version and show license status output.
Any thoughts on how to resolve this license thing for Cisco 8000v?

Hello @FrancisErwin-Roxas,
the simplest workflow is 'Connected Directly to CSSM' which requires that your 8000v router has direct internet access and can reach the CSSM at https://software.cisco.com/ which you can easily check via ping.
In this case you need to change the transport type to 'Smart':
license smart transport smart
license smart url default
Then you need to establish trust to the CSSM with a token.
Just follow the procedure step-by-step as outlined in the document I linked in my first post.

Hello @FrancisErwin-Roxas,
your transport type is set to cslu but the CSLU address is empty.
Take a look at the Smart Licensing Using Policy for Cisco Enterprise Routing Platforms and identify the correct workflow for your setup. If transport type CSLU is correct, you need to specify how you want the CSLU to be discovered. Then follow the workflow accordingly.

Thanks for reply Jens, we also tried to put the token using this command below. Which didn't know anything. Assume below is for Smart transport type?
license smart trust idtoken (token) all force

Hello @FrancisErwin-Roxas,
this command is only used for the workflow "Connected to CSSM through vManage as a Controller".
That's why I said that the first task is to identify the correct workflow for your setup.
If you use a CSLU server this command is not applicable. You need to follow the instructions of the appropriate workflow to register the license.

@Jens Albrecht Thank you sir for information. I believe we do not have CSLU Server. What is the work around for this? We need to change the transport type from CSLU to Smart?

@Jens Albrecht - do you know if applying this license smart commands and token needs a maintenance windows to perform this?
09-08-2025 01:34 PM
Hello @FrancisErwin-Roxas,
applying smart licensing commands and a token on a Cisco Catalyst 8000v router does not require a maintenance window—the process does not disrupt traffic, reload the device, or impact forwarding during registration.
This action is performed in the background and the registration only updates the licensing status and entitlements. You should see brief log messages about license state and trust establishment, but these do not affect the operation of the router.
