Hi @nbajason , I would not say all but lots of Internet outages like BGP Hijack, DDoS attacks, DNS hijacks, etc. which have some common symptoms that can be identified by Internet Insight or other tools of Thousandeyes. Here I found some examples for you:

@nbajason, absolutely, detecting hacking activities during internet outages is an intricate task, but there can be indirect correlations that warrant attention. While internet outage detection systems primarily focus on identifying disruptions in connectivity, certain cyberattacks, like DDoS attacks, can indeed lead to service interruptions and, consequently, be associated with internet outages. Monitoring network traffic patterns during these outages and analyzing anomalies might provide insights into potential malicious activities. However, it's essential to note that not all internet outages are a result of hacking; technical glitches, natural disasters, or other factors can also play a role.
