I have attempted to review documentation from cisco's end regarding Office 365 and unified Messaging services and connecting it to Office 365. I dont see within their documentation on if you are a Hybrid environment if its possible to connect to the exchange on prem server and still hold functionality like synchronization between the phone and the mailbox.
In this example the mailbox would be held in the cloud and not within the on-premise exchange and on-prem exchange is just a connector.
Would it work to connect through the

Sorry the Last part of the post cut out.
Would it work to connect through the on-premise Exchange server acting as the connector or is it required to have the Unity Connection server opened up to the internet for mailboxes held in the cloud?

Hi Willium,
Talked to Cisco today about the Hybrid environment configuration and if the mailbox is hosted in cloud to achieve single inbox capability and synchronization betweeen phone and mailbox you need to connect your Unity to the internet/exchange online.
Else if you use the on prem server it can be used as a relay but does not synchronize since it just sends the email out through the server and out.
