Unity admin screen will not come up

When I go to the URL for my Unity server, neither the admin page nor the status page will display. It will be left as blank. I have checked to make sure I did not have any undesirable java plugins download, and my CSA is still running ok. I am running version 4.04 Unity. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I cannot reboot the box currently, because it is during business hours, but I thought I might try that as a last resort tonight.

What is the error message on the web page? Are there any errors/warnings in application logs? Are you running 4.0(4) SR1?

I get the error back that the page cannot be found, that there is a DNS error. I checked the warnings and errors, and the event viewer has 2 log files generated: one for AvCsTray status, and the other for AVODBC. I looked over these logs, and there was nothing except recording of the event. It was Event ID 1004. Upon further looking, I found Event ID 100, EVT_AVCSCOMMON_LOG_ERROR, and it stated that I should verify that the AvDSAD service has started. I did this, but I still have the issue with the admin web page not being able to be accessed; no error but stating that the web page cannot be displayed.

Try running the Internet Services Manager under MMC to ensure the web service is running.

Ah. I think this is where the problem is. I can successfully open the MMC, but then when I click on the ISM, the application locks up; no CPU spikes or memory useage on it at all. I have also tried to open it from Admin tools, and the screen will not come up at all. Any suggestions? Thanks for pointing me in this direction.

HHMM, not sure as that could be anything. Are there any PIDs stealing resources on the box? Sounds like you have some instability at this point, have you tried the Microsoft answer? IE, reboot to see if it clears up? I would first look at the event log for application errors to see if there is a correlation to the web service dying prematurely.

After a reboot, still check to see that the WWW service started under MMC, I have seen where even when the service appears to be started, it actually is not. What has changed since the last time WWW service was working? IE, patch install, upgrade, etc?

REbooting worked and it is working ok. Thanks!
