Unity Connection 8.6 Sync with EX2010 Issue

We are Unity Connection 8.6 with Exchange 2010, single inbox setup. Currently UC replicates the message to our Exchange accounts and then controls when to delete messages with the Message Aging policy setup in UC.

Is there a way to have UC not manage the message aging for Exchange? In other words we would like to have the message once delivered to exchange, be managed by the users in their Outlook account. On the back end UC's message aging policy would handle deletions within the UC server only.

Is this possible?

Hi,

It sounds like you're aware of the details of where deleted messages go which is explained in detail here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/8x/unified_messaging/guide/85xcucumg020.html#wp1244813

SIB is a 1:1 mapping of messages so there isn't a way to tell it to only act on messages in the local DB.  The EWS subscription is going to notify/be notified for all updates to those messages it has synced.  You'd lose the whole concept of unified messaging if this was allowed.

Hope that helps,

Brad
