I was able to perform this on an Avaya switch, but we're moving to Cisco and I'm not sure how to perform this function on a CISCO. I'm aiming to do this on a C9200L requirement:device interface -vlan 32,40, with PVID 40. All untagged. It requires bot...
When entering any command into the console, the output in my putty session is delayed, even when spamming enter for a new line, it will take some time for the console to catch up. This switch isn't connected to the network, it is just on my desk. The...
My configuration is as follows, indicating the native vlan on each trunk interface:the native vlans are fully tagged across these trunks (except 1003). when I connect the cisco 9300 across the wireless mesh, I get a PVST vlan mismatch error at my rou...
How would setting "switchport mode access" and "switchport access vlan 1" allow multiple untagged vlans on that port? That should only support traffic from vlan1.
Hi Paul, Please read the full post. I'm not trying to make a trunk between an avaya and cisco switch. I'm connecting an end device that needs multiple untagged vlans (switchport mode general) on the cisco c9000, similarly to how i'm able to on avaya ...
It looks like what I require is switchport mode general, which in my previous hardware we just called "untag all". the Catalyst 9000 series does not support switchport mode general, so it looks like I'll need to find a new hardware solution.
For the other vendors, ingress traffic is defaulted to the PVID (native vlan). The end result is that the device is listening to all the vlans on the port, and it's outbound traffic is on the PVID, without the device seeing the tags. None of the prot...
I agree, all modern systems are generally vlan aware, however these aren't modern. They were installed in the 80s (VAX) and early 90s (DEC), and cannot be replaced yet. I wish our production used hardware built in this century, but it is not. All I k...
