Hello, I have two Catalyst 2960x's on each end of newly run 10GB fiber. One switch only has 1Gbps spf slots, and the other has 10Gpbs spf slots. Im obviously going to have to put 1Gbps sfp module in the 1Gbps switch, however I was wondering if I shou...
Hello, ive brought up the new Catalyst 9115axi embedded wireless controller and have it configured, as well as the software download portion in the ewc. Using tftp pointing to local pc to grab images as I add additonal subordinate ap's. I tested a co...
Hello, I got a new 8 port cat1000 and had no problem turning it on, pressing button for a few seconds to get it in setup mode, and then jump in the web gui at 10.0.0.1. However after I setup with a new vlan1 static IP that i wanted, and completed the...
Hello, I could use some help on prioritizing voice across my switches. I have done a lot of research but im not sure some of what I saw is all necessary. In my setup i have a few catalyst 2960's and using a 3650 core. I have vlan 10 (data) and vlan 2...
Hello,
I walked into a setup currently with 5 2960x switches daisy chained in a line, they all do have sfp+ ports on them. I would like to find something with atleast 5 sfp+ ports on it so I could bring all these 2960's into it. They only have about ...
I started by resetting the AP back to factory using the reset button during startup for 20 seconds. Once boots back up, convert the ap to capwap running "ap-type capwap" command. AP should reboot and then you can manually download the ap1g4 image to ...
Wanted to follow up and confirm the 1gig sfp module GLC-SX-MMD did work in the 10gig slp slot on the 2960X-48LPD-L. So GLC-SX-MMD sfp modules on both ends did bring up a 1gig link for me. Thanks.
Thanks, bottom line it sounds like a speed mismatch on either end of fiber is a roll of the dice. I will give the 1gig module a try in the 10gig port and see if i have any luck. I can always use a fiber to ethernet media converter for now i guess on ...
Gotcha, i was looking at the sfp compatibility matrix and it appeared that the 10Gig switch does support the same 1Gig sfp module as the 1gig switch. GLC-SX-MMDhttps://tmgmatrix.cisco.com/?npid=654&npid=658
Understood, again I appreciate the help. I did lookup both models in the sfp compatibility matrix, but if you'd like to confirm that would be great. On one end I have the 2960X-48LPD-L, and other end 2960X-48LPS-L.
