I have a question: is it still valid to run Spanning tree protocol in a Metro net from the Carrier stand point? I would rather prefer another level=2 protocolo to prevent from looping and that has less convergence time due to minor topology...

I have a couple of 2611 with an WIC1DSUT1 in each router and wonder if I could hook them up so that they both , without any net in bet. could serve as a serial link, /252 IP assigment and routing can be done...thanks
