I have a question: is it still valid to run Spanning tree protocol in a Metro net from the Carrier stand point?
I would rather prefer another level=2 protocolo to prevent from looping and that has less convergence time due to minor topology changes that requiere a big reordering of the tree on about very node there is.
Thnks for the feedback.

Hi Roy
I dont see what not. if you run RSTP/MSTP you can have a good convergence time.
of course there are limitations on number of nodes you can have in total. I think 16 switches is a safe limit. I have gove over to 18 with no major issues.
