SX-10 with Crestron control. . .

I need to connect a Crestron MC3 to a SX-10 and monitor codec wake/sleep. No RS-232 port . . . how do I connect. I do not believe the Codec and MC3 will be on the same network so IP control is out. How do I get there? thanks.
